This may include live identity checks, verified documentation, and cross-checking identities across multiple systems.
2. Reducing Reliance on a Single Interview Format
Deepfake candidates thrive in controlled, repeatable environments. Relying solely on one type of video interview increases risk. Mixing formats such as live problem-solving, unscripted discussions, follow-up interviews with different interviewers, and when possible in-person meetings makes impersonation far more difficult.
3. In-Person Interviews for High-Trust Roles
For positions involving sensitive data, financial access, or security responsibilities, at least one in-person interview should be strongly preferred. Physical presence provides layers of confirmation that current deepfake technology struggles to replicate, from environmental consistency to real-time, multi-sensory interaction.
